This sweet boy loves to read. It's the first thing we do when he wakes and the last thing we do before bed. Nothing sweeter than him making his way to my lap for a snuggle and a book.
On the other hand, I almost (for like a split second) thought i lost him. When I found him under here I'm reminded of all the things I put my poor parents through as a child. There is a wonderful story of how my dad was 'watching' me and after a phone call to 911 he found me in a cabinet with an empty bowl of ice cream, I was well under 2.
I took Hudson to the park today, so I could get in a walk and he could explore a desolate playground to himself. But some days don't go exactly as planned, Hudson was unwilling to sit in the stroller while I walked so we left.
I'm reminded today that some days I'm lucky to get out of my PJ's, some days I'm lucky to eat anything other than peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the occasional cookie I sneak, other days I just pray for Hudson to take a nap so I'm can soak in the tub and listen to the silence. But I am reminded that these days that sometimes seem long, repetitive and hard will be bittersweet memories. I'm reminded that even though I have expectations for my day it may not always go that way and that's ok.
Here are a few pictures from the playground, Hudson LOVED it!
Made an apple pie today for a friend who had a baby this past friday - I love the way it makes your whole house smell like home!
Also, did you know...Hudson will be 9 months old Sunday. I really can't believe it, bittersweet for this mama. I love seeing him grow but there is also this part that just wants him to stay in my arms with that sweet smile of his. But each new day brings such fun for the two of us and especially when josh gets home. This is such a special time, so thankful for this sweet boy!
Parenting for me has been such an amazing experience, I have grown so much. Hudson has taught me so much about myself and the world around me.
The biggest lesson I've learned is how to be selfless, how to sacrifice, how to place his needs before mine. I look forward to conversations we will have one day, to long walks and more lessons learned.
We gave Hudson a raspberry this weekend and everytime he tasted it he made this face, too funny! This boy loves food though raspberries are the only thing he makes a face for ... maybe they are too sour!
His other favorite activity besides eating is reading, this kid loves books. Just plop him in your lap and he will sit and read with you for a good 20 minutes.
Oh how we love play dates! A friend of mine, Julie, and her two little boys, Levi 15 months & Samuel 2, come over once a week to play. It's so nice to have an adult to chat with and also it's nice to have Hudson socialize with others. It's one of our favorite days of the week!
Not the greatest picture but clearly getting three boys under 3 to sit still should be an olympic sport!
I haven't posted in SO long because this sweet little boy of mine is so much fun and is keeping me on my toes. He can now crawl anywhere, pull up on just about everything and cruise. Ah, this is my favorite age so far!
This past week my friend and I made a trip to Ikea and took Hudson, I was hesitant at first but we left when he was due for his first nap. Which he slept the entire way there, 2 hours, and then we shopped and let him play and then he slept the entire way home. We had such a wonderful day and it really gave me confidence to know that I can handle such an adventure with Hudson.
