Hudson Update

I haven't done an update on Hudson in a while so thought I would tell you what he's into these days.

He's almost 16 months!

Hudson loves books, they are by far his favorite thing to do he will either sit in his favorite red chair we have or he will walk up to you turn around and back up to you until he falls in your lap. Once the book is finished he will get up find another book and repeat it again. When I tell him we are going somewhere in the car he runs to grab a book and reads it the ENTIRE time in the car, I kid you not. He loves books!

Hudson says, "mama, dada, ball, moon (while pointing at the sky), nu-nu-nu (for food)." He loves cooking with me, he loves when I hold him and he watches as I add all the ingredients. His favorite is making smoothies with me which we do every morning and then I fill his sippy cup and he grabs it then starts dancing with excitement. Did I mention he loves to dance, anytime he hears music he starts dancing. As I type this he is running around the living room dancing because a guy is singing on good morning america.

Hudson loves playing outside he has a toy lawn mower that he takes everywhere outside. When josh mows he stands with his lawn mower and just watches josh's every move, pretty sweet.

He has a blankie that he adores, any time he gets sleepy which is often because he has now transitioned to one nap a day. He will go grab his blankey and he does this motion with his tongue almost as if he has a pacifier in his mouth but there is no pacifier and he moves his tongue in the same movement. That's when I know he's tired, do other kids do this? It's adorable!

He is an absolute joy to have, Josh and I just pinch ourselves at how lucky we are to have him. I have no idea what we did with our time before him but I just love our time with him. I'm so happy that I get to stay home with him. It's SO MUCH FUN!

our sweet boy

Here's some fun shots of Hudson from this past week. I found this place called weeplay and on Wednesdays mornings they have open bouncy for $5. Needless, to say we will be regulars. I also met some moms there so hopefully Hudson and I can make friends and have playdates!

Yep, He went all the way up turned around and went feet first in his belly!! It's okay mom!

Hudson's new hiding spot

Even though it rained for the most part yesterday Hudson still wanted to play outside. So I put on his swim trunks and let him go to town.

Hudson's chore is getting the mail, he loves it!!

storytime at the library

I took Hudson to the library in Union City, TN, it's about 12 minutes away, yesterday. It was one of the nicest libraries I've ever been in. It's each Monday at 10 am so I think we will become regulars. They have storytime then we do a craft centered around the book, take a snack break then all the kids stay after to play.

Hudson glued on the pieces to make a scarecrow!

best days of my life

I'm reminded each day by how sweet this life is, so thankful for these two!!

Hudson and I are finding things to do each day down here, everyone asks me how I like it and my response is always, "it's slower down here." It's so true life is just slow, conversations are long, the sunset is wide and the mosquitoes are everywhere. It's a sweet life down here though I feel like I get so much more quality time with these two and I can't think of anything else I'd rather do with my time.

Josh is really liking his job, it's slow right now as they are still getting the lab up and working but he has such excitement for his work. I'm glad Hudson gets to see him with such enthusiasm for life, and to see the fruition of following your dreams.

I never know if we will stay here forever or if this is just a launching pad but either way I'd be happy. Although I'd love to have a starbucks and target closer...wink wink!

before & after: Pinterest party

Friday night Lauren and I had a Pinterest party. Josh and Thomas played video games, it was a lot of fun. They stayed the night and in the morning we made a big breakfast.

Here's my before and after, it's a R for our last name!

past week

Hudson and I are having a fun time exploring a new place, I always try and imagine how big this world seems to him.  I just love this sweet boy he has taught me so much about this world, can't say how thankful I am to be his momma.

lake days

My friend, Heidi, from a weight loss camp we worked at in North Carolina right after college invited us to her families lake house. We are having a blast, it's not like our lake house this is a full functioning home where her parents spend a lot of time. It's on kentucky lake which was under an hour from where we now live. Today we are headed out on the boat and jet skis. Hudson's loving it!

first day

Hudson had his first day at Mother's Day out today. This was the picture I captured when I came to pick him up, finishing lunch. (He's the one with his back towards us) Boy I missed him, it was so strange to run errands and not carry a bag of Cheerios, toys, books, sippy cups, diapers, wipes, my phone to ploy more time. It's amazing what can be done in 3 hours with no toddler, absolutely amazing!

They said he did great and only got upset when they came in from playing outside. So proud of him. Once we got home he let out this huge sigh of relief it was pretty sweet. Then he sprinted towards his blankie and sat down in his play room and played for almost an hour alone. I think he was so happy to be home. Makes a mommas heart happy that he feels relaxed here.

He just goes on Wednesdays mornings for about 3 or so hours. I think it's going to be great for him to meet some friends and to develop more.

first haircut

Timeline in pictures of Hudson's first haircut! Oh and yes mom I saved a lock of his hair, don't you worry. We went to Martin, TN which is about 10 minutes away, it's the cutest town and this salon was so great - Josh even got his haircut after Hudson. The guy who cut Josh's hair was so helpful and kind by telling us of stuff to do nearby. I can't say it enough but everyone has been so welcoming here.

I will make another post tomorrow, until then here's some cute photos of Hudson.
