who wouldn't have loved to have this in their bedroom growing up? not only is it a climbing wall but you climb to a secret room that is all your own. maybe josh and i can find space for this in our new home :^)

secret passages

i have always been inspired by the idea of old houses with hidden things, growing up we had this attic space that my brother and i would play int. it is one of my fondest memories of my childhood home. there was even a crawlspace that was unfinished, with the pink panther insulation and all we would crawl over - we always wondered why our legs were always itching :^) - here is a couple that made a play room under their staircase. click the link for more photos. great idea!

 

 this reminds me of the movie royal tenenbaums (one of my favorite movies) and the space they had under the stairs. i believe it was ethel's office, she would always be captured on the phone in there. love love love that movie!
